Cosmetic Restorations

We consider the final cosmetics in all of our dental restorations. The majority of people appreciate restorations that are natural-looking and function like their original tooth did. With that in mind, we opt for the most biologically compatible and cosmetically similar materials when restoring teeth.

The three restorative options we have are bonded composite, porcelain veneers, and porcelain crowns.

Frequently asked Questions

What is the difference between bonded restoration, veneers and porcelain crowns?

When we are restoring teeth, we have a variety of materials and options.

Composite Bonded Restorations – this is a bonded resin material that is tooth-colored. It can be used for small fillings or on the face of the tooth, or even in the grooves of the teeth. This is a very common procedure and relatively inexpensive compared to crowns.

Porcelain Veneers – are thin porcelain shells that are custom-made and bonded to the outer surface of the tooth. They are quite strong, do not stain on the surface of them, and are quite durable.

Porcelain Crowns – they are white crowns that look and feel like your natural teeth. They are bonded over your natural tooth and provide strength, esthetics, and durability. They are less conservative than a veneer, but they are probably more durable.

Which type of restoration we use depends upon the location in your mouth, your age, what is adjacent and opposing the tooth, and how large the missing or decayed tooth structure is.
